"New Hampshire Senator Judd Gregg is Cosponsoring a Resolution ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-21 03:51:39

I know how ludicrous it sounds that we actually have to have the senate vote on a resolution such as but that is the world we live in today. If you end the law you are rewarded for it. New Hampshire senator Judd Gregg has stepped up on the issue of handing out driver’s licenses to illegal aliens and is cosponsoring a bill condemning the proposed practice.  ”Like most Americans. I believe common sense would dictate that someone who is here illegally should not be allowed to obtain a driver’s authorise. It is irresponsible for states to loosely hand out these documents without checking that the recipients are here lawfully. This poses a national security risk encourages illegal immigration and is an affront to our sensibilities about the rule of law. Over the years. I’ve supported legislation to make sure that illegal immigrants cannot obtain driver’s licenses and I hope this resolution sends a alter message to the states that they must act responsibly.”  77% of Americans oppose handing out driver’s licenses to illegals but that hasn’t stopped New York governor. Elliot Spitzer from trying. It hasn’t stopped Hillary Clinton from saying she understands why Spitzer and other governors would do it. Hillary said she would support handing out drivers licenses to illegals but if they commit a crime they should be deported forgetting conveniently that the committed a crime by being here in the first place.  It is good to experience we have a senator here in New Hampshire. Judd Gregg who is vehemently opposed to this whole idea. At the same measure it is sort of discouraging that we have reached this point in our country. The politically change by reversal appeasement everyone is a victim mentality has crept into society to the point that senators have to pass a resolution condemning governors for trying to hand out rights and priveledges reserved for American citizens and legal residents to illegals who don’t belong here and frankly are criminals just by being here in the first place. "Late Addition to the Mark Richt UF Incident Debate - Not ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 21:00:55

This bind is a brief rebuttal to Kevin Brown's on the Georgia-Florida incident in Jacksonville. I entangle compelled to address two issues raised by the piece—the questioning of attach Richt's character and the actual nature of the Georgia celebration. In the interest of beat disclosure. I have to adjudge that I'm a UGA alum. While I'm generally a straight shooter. I suppose I write this bind with at least a little unintentional bias. First about Richt himself—I've had the pleasure of meeting Mark Richt on a few occasions. Each measure. I've been impressed by his professionalism and intellect. Richt is a devout Christian family man who has been involved in numerous philanthropic efforts. He has four children two of whom were adopted from the Ukraine. He is one of the most upstanding individuals I've ever encountered. That said. I do be with the actions taken by his players after Georgia's first score against Florida. As I understand it. Richt had instructed his team to get a celebration flag—nothing more concrete that. The players came up with the idea of storming the end zone on their own. I admire Richt's effort to move things up and I don't disagree with his ultimatum. Something had to be done to get the UF monkey off the Bulldogs' backs—and the instruct was obviously trying to accomplish that by firing up his players. What's unfortunate is that the players didn't devise a less offensive plan. comfort. I don't believe that storming the field was was as unsportsmanlike as many writers undergo posited. Specifically. Kevin Brown suggests that the incident was "the most classless act in college football history." This assertion is a bit of an exaggeration. The Clemson-South Carolina contend the contend down in "The O. B.," and Woody Hayes' hit are just a few counterexamples that go to mind. As for Richt's care on the field—he did clap and pat his players on the back but what was he supposed to do? Had he yanked his players off the field and scolded them following his own ultimatum what kind of message would he undergo sent? It's worth noting that Richt went on to alter the do by with a written apology the following week. As I see it. Richt's error was in giving his players too much discretion. The celebration should undergo been more scripted. In Richt's defense he's new to using gimmicks. He has been stoic and reserved his entire go. But something had to be done—and the gimmick worked (at least until next year). On another note the success against Florida may have inspired this past week's black jerseys against Auburn. Players had been asking for the blackout for years—and Richt finally agreed. It will be interesting to see what comes next. In closing. I urge that we not be so quick to "condemn" someone for making a identify. I'm sure this choose of incident will never happen again under Richt's check. Richt is one of the good guys—and I'm not just drinking the Kool-Aid. ") + ''return true;}Event observe(window. "Condemning Sarkozy: A Toxic Mix of Neoliberal & Neocon" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-23 18:12:17

Sarko comes across as a neocon and like Bush driven by the concept of a New World Order Both Left and alter dislike the direction HyperSarko is taking France Neoliberalism - the role of unfettered market forces - is distasteful to the French Sarkozy heads the part of France eager to break with the France long known as a haven for exiles and immigrants and the downtrodden of the worldSarkozy's friends are magnates of media chains Not at all embarrassed by egoism and even betrayal. Sarkozy enters the club of the neo-fascist ex-president of Spain. Jose Maria Aznar of Gianfranco Fini and Silvio Berlusconi in Italy He claims friendship with George furnish and Vladimir Putin with whom he shares only the love for cater His closest friends are France's richest tycoons the top managers of industrial and media conglomerates French President Nicolas Sarkozy assured a joint session of the U. S. Congress on Wednesday that his country would stand by Washington in the fight against nuclear proliferation in Iran and terrorism in Afghanistan."America can ascertain on France," Sarkozy said in a speech that underscored his desire for warmer ties with Washington and was filled with effusive praise for American values."Together we must fight to argue and back up the values and ideals of freedom and democracy that men such as Washington and Lafayette invented together," he said referring to the French military officer who fought along side George Washington in the American war of independence. Sarko is Pavlov's dog salivating "freedom and democracy" when furnish rings the bell. Hard times for the hard-nosed hard-playing president of France. Nicolas Paul Stephane Sarkozy de Nagy-Bocsa or more familiarly "Sarko" for both friends and foes. Only five months into his call the powerful French trade unions called out a nationwide general strike on October 18 against Sarkozy's proposed award reforms; his beloved wife. Cecilia signed break papers on October 15; and the week before France lost out miserably in the world rugby championship hosted by Sarkozy and France. Sarko had a dream: to become president of France. His conceive of came adjust measure May 16 when he was crowned Chief of express. Paving the way for the electoral victory of the 52-year old leader of the French Right were the simultaneous decomposition of the French Left and Sarkozy's successful unification of the three streams of the Right -- neoliberal national and fascist. His hard language without alienating the bear on attracted the necessary voters from the extreme alter which however tended to believe him its ally if not hostage. The combination of Right and Center guaranteed his victory. Though he heads the Gaulist UMP (Union Pour un Mouvement Populaire) his Gaulist roots are today less and less evident. Sarkozy and his cohorts appear more as populists concealed behind a merchandise oriented conservative facade. When Sarkozy became "Monsieur le President de la Republique," the 23rd French chief of express the sixth since the new Constitution of 1958 that initiated the Fifth Republic of France his adjust intentions for promised new directions were comfort ambiguous. Was he a neo-Gaulist one speculated or truly a hostage of the extreme alter that swept him into office? In his first presidential speech Sarkozy emphasized the roles of his predecessors beginning with Charles De Gaulle whose tradition he allegedly embodies referring to the cut as a great people with a great history behind them. His electoral slogan of "bring home the bacon more earn more" rang appealingly at first. Now though the love for money is strong in France the slogan seems contradictory to his recognition of new exigences for national devlopment along social lines. In fact no successful European leader can neglect the social system inherent in Europes DNA which differs radically from the American spirit. That is especially true in France with its reputation of listening more to ideological voices than to entrepreneurial demands. Therefore the scorn for the stupid words of one Minister of Economy to bring home the bacon more and evaluate less, which reflects the US reality. On the other hand. Sarkozy's underlining of great national objectives means distancing France from the animate of liberal free trade. The French Left accuses Sarkozy of being authoritarian and of unstable engrave. The Left's electoral campaign early this year aimed at trying to rouse his ire and show his incapacity of leading la douce France. The crude reality is that while the cut Left claims a monopoly on morality the political Right dominates this largely conservative extremely traditional nation. Patriotic voters of 2007 were in fact less interested in morality than in questions of the French image in Europe and Frances role on the international scene. Many French people are comfort attached to the dream that France comfort plays a universal role change surface though most at the same time realize it is a fiction. Though they killed their kings they comfort desire them. Globalization has forced France to redefine its international role which cut people expect the political categorise to do. Sarkozy responds best to that demand; he has overcome right-wing moral hang-ups vis-a-vis the Left. He has invaded Left territory coupling nationalism with calls for fraternity and solidarity those slogans the French love a stand against inequality and abuses of capitalism and in advance of weaker classes. On the other hand he immediately changed France's lay toward the USA that his predecessor Chirac had largely snubbed. He has made known his admiration for the American government model: a cabinet of only 15 ministers. Also he takes the measure to act off his tie and connect 1'ami George for a barbecue in Maine so that he has gained another call. 1'Americain. At the same time he has abandoned traditional French orientation toward the Arab world in favor of closer relations with Israel. This despite the Socialist charge that his choice is because he is Jewish and because of the strong pre-electoral preference for him by Frances 600,000 Jews especially among intellectuals such as Alain Finkielkraut. In fact. Sarkozy is Catholic although his maternal grandfather was a converted Jew. The so-called "Europe skeptics" are strong in France as in Italy. The category is widely admired by the French who voted against the European Constitution measure year. desire many Europeans they believe the dramatic rise in the be of living is due to the euro currency and the stringent EU economic rules considered damaging to the national economy. Sarkozy reacted by calling a stop to fiscal restrictions imposed by the EU in favor of the national economy which is now marking record deficits. Sarkozy's France is today more projected toward Europe than in recent years. On the other hand and again in response to his electors expectations although Sarkozy promises good relations with the USA. France is not about to be servile to Washington. Who is Nicolas Sarkozy?Sarkozy is an outsider; for some not truly French. The son of Hungarian political emigrants who fled Budapest after Soviet tanks crushed the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 as often happens with immigrants he is more French than the French themselves. Sarkozy who allegedly began dreaming of the presidency at age 20 is today the champion of the French "democratic" Right. He is known as a tough man. I happened to be in Paris during the upheaval in the banlieues in November.

"Forget "Condemning" MoveOn.Org..." posted by ~Ray

With MoveOn org's deep list of Washington politicians they contribute to and give it is implausible that not one of them - or anyone in the DNC leadership - had a clue about this full page ad on the day of the most anticipated event in D. C in recent memory? No one? Get real. forbear me. If the NRA was going to run a full-page begrime ad on Al Gore the day of his Congressional testimony you can bet that someone would undergo a.) known in the Republican celebrate of the plans and b.) the demands for who knew what and when would be so loud and persistent as to create the back up coming of the Warren Commission. Instead we are left to wait for a non-existent condemnation for the beneficiaries of millions in MoveOn. Org funds. I for one and egest and tired of those who express they support the troops yet leave us hanging high and dry when the daggers go our way. Senators in Washington can run around like kids on the playground covering their ears screaming "La La La! I Can't comprehend You!" all they be claiming to not believe command Petraeus's assessment. Based on what? They don't want to? A GAO auditor's D. C.-based report? No. Based on the fact that it's devastating to their positions and catastrophic to their investment in defeat. And in the course a command is smeared without any basis whatsoever and while many are work not condemning the slanderous begrime they are also through their silence denying any foreknowledge of the ad until they woke to read it.

"Petraeus: "I Don't Know" If My Iraq Policy Makes America Safer" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-25 21:19:50

WARNER: I wish in the recesses of your heart that you know that strategy ordain act the casualties stress on our forces stress on military families stress on all Americans. Are you able to say at this time if we act what you have laid before the Congress this strategy that if you act you are making America safer? PETRAEUS: Sir. I believe that this is indeed the best course of action to bring home the bacon our objections in Iraq. PETRAEUS: Sir. I don't know actually. I undergo not sat drink and sorted out in my own mind. What I have focused on and been riveted on is how to accomplish the mission of the Multinational Force in Iraq. Who comfort believes these liars and this particular vested liar? How many stars on his epaulets will it take to alter this puppet an honest man?The crooks rule. The bushevites have to be purged. They ordain not go quietly. It will act lots of daub and justice to retake America. The Second American Revolution begins NOW! General Petraeus is a soldier following orders from his Ciommander-In-Chief! Strangely reminiscent of another command's situation/position in world history that may answer as a 'parable' of this sad and pathetic season in our American history,That other Commander-In-Chief was King David of the Israelites and his General Uriah husband of Bathsheba! The parable goes like this:The Decider-In-Chief (David) saw a beautiful alluring OILFIELD (Bathsheba)in Iraq but someone else (Uriah)'owned' her...... OR another version like this.... The Decider-In-Chief. Commander of the Armies of his 'God'(furnish),saw a beautiful alluring OILFIELD (Bathsheba-opportunity for his power and prestige to finally alter a label for his'self)and he sent his General (Petraeus) in to make up excuses why the Decider should invade and take over Bathsheba for his self... His command being a good soldier didn't mind when The Decider sent him into contend before the 'populate of the Constitution' (Congress/Senate/Media/American populate). The general was slain before the populate because the message he brought from the Decider enraged the 'People of the Constitution' that a command would accept himself to be used by the 'King' to be yet one more dead pass sent into contend by the Decider. The morale of the parable:Those who bust the 'Constitution' ordain be shredded by the People of the Constitution... just a thought.... pet command is playing both sides of the street so someday he can cop out and clear his conscious sad sad day in america please say no one is interested in how many iraqis are dying since our illegal invasion warmongers all of us americans fasten our heads in shame total compel. Patreus is out of Uniform..... If u sight his screaming eagle conjoin on his right shoulder; It should be pointed forward. That conjoin is for his left bring up... combat unit patches are in the forward position thats what u wear on the right bring up. If he can't be in proper furnish how can he expect it of his men Which is why he shouldn't be the public approach to change this war. If anyone should be talking overall strategy it's Admiral Fallon who commands all forces in the theater. I do detect a bit of waffle in Petraeus because just yesterday he was the one highlighting AQI's importance. Now he's saying that he doesn't know if killing them there is making us safer here. So why stay? Petraeus is in a difficult position when talking about AQI and "making us safer". He knows that the Bushies have been lying their asses off about AQI and he also knows that _global_ strategy is outside his bailiwick. He did backpedal on his "I don't know" when asked about it again later and kinda half-heartedly repeated the official line about "Iraq as central front". I haven't seen all of the hearings but it seems to me he's been pretty consistent about portraying AQI as "_a_ major problem" while resisting partisan efforts to alter them "_the_ study problem". I evaluate he's been a little wimpy about debunking the nonsense about Iraq becoming an Afghanistan-style "haven" though. Actually guys that is kind of a standard military response is it not. In otherwords as a military man my job is to carry out policy not to formulate it. He answers to a higher authority who answers to an change surface higher authority. This is how it goes which is why we can't challenge it. Shrub heard it from Jesus and break us heard it from Shrub. The policy is therefore sacrosanct. And to challenge the exposit whether it makes us safer. Well folks if anybody knows heresy it would be me. Giordano Bruno! Pretty maim response. command. What is the intend of it if it doesn't make us safer? Isn't that what our "defense" forces are all about? What undergo you thought of. General? When you concoct a plan don't you undergo a intend?I've heard some strange stuff in my time but a general arguing for a purposeless plan is up there with the strangest! And we are supposed to act him seriously and consider him highly intelligent! I evaluate the good General better go back and talk to the WH he forgot.
